Robert "Bobby" Williams ’52 came to the Hilltop to play men's basketball for legendary Head Coach Al Grenert after transferring from New York. A three-year standout, he quickly became a fan favorite for his tenacious hustle and graceful scoring and passing touch.

Williams co-captained the Hawks' 1951-52 squad and was part of a program that posted a 47-24 record over his career, including a 21-7 record in 1950-51 which, at the time, became a new school record. He finished his career with 628 points for an 8.7 point-per-game average and finished with a remarkable career shooting percentage of over 60%.

Williams went on to become an outstanding high school coach and was tabbed to take over as the coach of the New Hampshire College program before he passed away suddenly at the age of 43.

Saint Anselm College proudly inducted him into the Anselmian Athletic Club Hall of Fame, forever remembering him as a selfless, committed, and loyal man with a love for the game and for his program.
