The 1995-96 Saint Anselm Men’s Basketball Team set a school record with a remarkable 28-3 overall record. The Hawks recorded a perfect 16-0 record in Northeast-10 Conference play and cruised through the NE-10 tournament, defeating the opposition by an average of 24 points. The title was the program’s third title in the last four years and fourth in the last six years. The Hawks, which put together a 21-game winning streak during the season, advanced to the regional final of the NCAA Tournament and sustained its only losses against Division I Drexel and Saint Rose.

A number of Hawks earned postseason honors, with Darren Clough being named NE-10 Player of the Year and John O’Connell earning NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year honors. Head coach Keith Dickson was named the NE-10 Coach of the Year, NEBCA Coach of the Year and NABC Divsion II Regional Coach of the Year

The team was captained by John O’Connell, Darren Clough, and Brendan McCarthy.
