John Lindberg '74 was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. Lindberg became captain of the men’s ice hockey team his senior year. He was tenacious on the ice and when his team looked for leadership he gave it, when a goal was needed he scored it, when others were in doubt, he taught them the fine points of the game.

Lindberg led the Hawks to a record of 51 wins while scoring 76 goals with 73 assists for a total of 149 points. He reached 105 career points across his first two campaigns, scoring a career-high 28 goals in 1971-72 alongside 25 assists. He opened his career with 31 assists in 1970-71, a mark that ranks among the top-10 in single-season team history.

His speed, power and rugged offensive and defensive play define him as a model for the present ice hockey athlete, and his determination not only brought honor to the college but also became an important keystone to the College’s present ice hockey program.
