Athletics Hall of Fame
Fr. Jude Gray, O.S.B. was inducted as a Special Recognition recipient. A beloved member of the Saint Anselm community, Fr. Jude served the Department of Athletics in a myriad of ways after coming to the Abbey in 1962. A former professional baseball player with the Cleveland Indians organization, Fr. Jude coached the baseball team in the early 1970’s.
Fr. Jude’s athletic knowledge goes beyond the baseball diamond, as he has been a certified official in FIFA soccer, NCAA basketball, and NCAA baseball. Although currently retired from the Monastery, Fr. Jude also served in the capacity of academic advisor for the men’s basketball team for the last 20 years going back to 1983.
