Brian Murphy '84, a four-year member of the Hawks men's ice hockey program, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993. He was an unusually talented, confident, and aggressive player on the Saint Anselm men’s ice hockey team.

During the years 1980-84, Brian played in all 98 games during that period which stands as a testimonial to his endurance and to his pursuit of excellence as an athlete.

Murphy, a team captain in 1983-84, finished his career at Saint Anselm as the number four all-time scorer with 175 career points via 85 goals and 90 assists. He posted a career-high 56 points as a junior in 1982-83, scoring 30 goals with 26 assists for 50 points - he notched 13 goals on the power play and had a plus-24 rating that season.
