Athletics Hall of Fame
Christopher Madigan '90 was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1996. A basketball standout, his aggressive scorer's mentality and basketball instincts helped him carry his team to a Northeast-10 title and an NCAA victory over cross-town rival New Hampshire College.
At the time of induction, Madigan held the college's scoring record with 2,010 career points. As a senior, he was the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, leading Saint Anselm to the NE10 championship title and to the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament. Madigan was recognized as the NE10 postseason Most Valuable Player for his heroics that year.
A two-time Northeast-10 Conference First Team pick, he was recognized as a Second Team selection as well. He was also selected twice to the All-ECAC All-Star Team, as well as twice named as an All-District pick by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Madigan gained national recognition by being selected as a Sports Illustrated Division II Player of the Week his senior year.
His 705 points in 1989-90 stands as the single-season team record. He was the first student-athlete from Saint Anselm to earn induction into the NE10 Hall of Fame, accomplishing that feat in 2016.
