Athletics Hall of Fame
James Foster '88, a four-year member of the Hawks men's soccer team, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993.
Playing in 70 career games for the Hawks, Foster potted 39 goals and 20 assists for 98 points, ranking third all-time in career point scoring to date. He helped Saint Anselm to a solid 43-23-6 overall record in his career and earned three First Team All-Conference awards from what now is known as the Northeast-10 Conference.
A two-time team captain (1986, 1987), his 14 game-winning goals ranks second in team history and his 20 career assists are the sixth-most by any one student-athlete in their career. He scored four goals and two assists against Assumption on Sept. 19, 1987, tying the single-game point scoring record with 10 points to his credit.
Foster was named Northeast-10 Player of the Year in 1987 and is the Hawks only two-time NE10 Championship Most Valuable Player. A two-time All-New England pick, Foster was also a three-time NEISL All-Star who competed in the Soccer Bowl Classic as a senior.
