Raymond McLean '40 of the Saint Anselm College football program was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1980.

Throughout his career, the Hawks posted a 21-4-2 record with the help of "Ramblin' Ray" and other star football players of the time. During his freshman year, Saint Anselm football went 6-0-1, tying powerhouse Holy Cross to hold on to the undefeated season. That same year, the Hawks outscored opponents with an impressive difference of 137-4.

The Little All-America recipient played professional football and was a member of four National Football League championship teams with the Chicago Bears in 1940, 1941, 1943 and 1946. He served as the Head Coach of the Green Bay Packers in 1958.
