Women’s soccer and softball player Kristine Thyng ’96 excelled in both sports and captained each team during her senior season. In softball, Thyng banged out 137 hits which ranked fifth all-time at the time of induction while posting a .335 career batting average (137-for-409). Her 64 career runs batted in ranked seventh all-time and she stole 22 bases in 24 attempts. She recorded 15 straight swipes over her last two seasons and went three years without being thrown out on the base paths.

She was also a three-year starter on the soccer team at the sweeper position and started 58 straight games over her final three seasons. She won the Saint Anselm Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 1996 and also earned All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team honors in softball that same season after batting .356 with 48 hits and leading the league with nine triples to go along with 18 RBI. In 1995, Thyng earned All-NE10 Honorable mention status after batting .355.
