Joseph (Jerry) McLean, Jr. '69, a 1980 Hall of Fame inductee, made his mark on the Northeast Collegiate Basketball League, of which he was named Most Valuable Player as a senior. The guard averaged over 20 points per game for his career, claiming ownership of four individual school records. At the time of induction, he held the college's records for most field goals in one game at 17, most free throws in one game at 17, and highest career scoring average with 20.4 points.

McLean wrapped up his career at Saint Anselm with a total of 1,187 points.
