Athletics Hall of Fame
Monica (McCarthy) Galamaga '91 became the 13th woman inducted into the Saint Anselm Athletics Hall of Fame, earning that distinction in 2001.
As a key member of the Hawks women's basketball team, McCarthy led Saint Anselm to two Northeast-10 Conference finals and the 1991 NE10 Championship, along with two-straight NCAA Regional Championship games in 1990 and 1991.
A three-year captain, McCarthy saw action in every game in her junior and senior seasons. She finished her career with 1,058 points, averaging 11.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game in her senior year.
McCarthy, who played in 114 career games to rank among the all-time leaders in durability, earned Second Team All-NE10 honors in 1990 and 1991 and was named to the league's All-Tournament Team in 1991.
