Athletics Hall of Fame
Peter J. Sperandio '38 was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1987. Sperandio was heralded as the best football guard in the history of Hawks football. The successes of the Saint Anselm football teams in the late 1930’s in no small measure are due to the talent of this man. In 1937, he was recognized for his athletic prowess by being named on the International News Service’s All New-England team.
His yearbook describes him well as one of the most popular men on campus who combined rare sound judgments, prowess on the football field with dedicated scholarship to stamp him as Saint Anselm’s A-1 man, and a man for all seasons.
