Current Florida State Head Coach Mark Krikorian ‘83 was a standout player in the early 1980s for Head Coach Ed Cannon's men's soccer team. Krikorian, whom Cannon called ahead of his time in terms of his technical capabilities on the soccer field, played for the Hawks from 1979-82 and was a two-time captain and team MVP. His seven assists in 1982 were tied for the 13th-best mark in program history.

He went on to play in the New England Indoor Soccer League where he was a league all-star. Since leaving Saint Anselm, Krikorian has succeeded at every level of soccer as a women’s coach. He guided Franklin Pierce College to national championships in 1992 and 1995 before moving on to the University of Hartford, where he went to one Elite Eight and a pair of Sweet Sixteens. Following his tenure at Hartford , Krikorian became head coach of the Philadelphia Charge of the WUSA from 2000-2003, earning Coach of the Year honors in 2002. He then spent two years with USA Soccer, including a Bronze Medal performance with the U-19 squad at the Women’s World Cup, before being named the third head coach at FSU.
