Ed Gorman '79 was a four-year starter at forward for the men's basketball team and captained the Hawks in his junior and senior seasons. He currently ranked No. 24 on Saint Anselm's all-time scoring list with 1,270 career points and his 15.1 points per game average sat 23rd in program history at the time of his induction. Gorman also ranked second all-time in steals (229) and fourth in field-goal percentage (.499), while his 73 steals in 1976-77 stood as a single-season record for a decade.

The Brockton, Mass. product paced the team in assists and steals as a sophomore and junior and scored 20 or more points 11 times in his career. Gorman led the Hawks to back-to-back winning seasons as a junior and senior and 46 wins in his career. He was an ECAC Weekly Honor Roll choice three times and played in the New England Basketball Coaches' Association All-Star game.
