Athletics Hall of Fame
Ernest Frechette '42 was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. He was a member of the football teams of 1939, 1940 and 1941, captaining the program in his final season. The school newspaper wrote of him, “Ernie has been one of the outstanding linemen of the Hawk teams for the past four years. A versatile athlete, he has been active both in hockey and golf as well as football during his short tenure at the Hilltop.”
He was not only a determined and hard worker, outstanding at the trade of football, but he was also a fine student who wrote for the school newspaper and served as president of the Student Varsity Club in 1942.
