Despite playing in only 53 games in his career, Daniel C. Balicki '66 totaled 835 points for a career scoring average of 15.8 points per game, ranking fifth in program history at the time of his induction.
He corralled 605 career rebounds for an average of 11.4 rebounds per game, which was a program record at the time of his induction. His 331 rebounds in 1965-66 was also a program record, as were his 16.5 rebounds per game that season.
His average of 22.4 points per game in 1965-66 ranked third all-time and he also held two of the top-20 field-goal percentage marks for a single season. His 25 rebounds against Bates on Dec. 3, 1965 established a new program record and were one of four games in his career in which Balicki had at least 22 rebounds.
In 1965-66, Balicki was named his team's Most Valuable Player and earlier that season, he helped the Hawks take down heavily-favored Division I opponent, the College of the Holy Cross, 67-60, in Worcester, Mass. in one of the greatest games and greatest upset victories in the history of Saint Anselm basketball.
