Athletics Hall of Fame
John Powers '76, a men’s ice hockey standout, was inducted as a member of the 1994-1995 Athletics Hall of Fame class. Powers played in almost every possible game during his college career. He took to the ice in 91 out of a possible 93 games and was instrumental in the successes of a great chapter in the history of Saint Anselm men's ice hockey.
With the help of Powers, the Hawks compiled a record of 53-39-1 from 1972-76. He finished his four year career with 42 goals and 71 assists for a total of 113 points. At the time of induction, he was one of the top-20 scoring and assist leaders at Saint Anselm. Powers' best performance came in his senior year when he scored 19 goals and 21 assists for a total of 40 points.
