DARTMOUTH, MASS. – The Saint Anselm College cross country team competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning, turning in a strong showing across both the men's and women's races. The men's team finished 20th out of 32 teams in the Gold 8K and 12th out of 17 teams in the Navy 8K. On the women's side, the Hawks placed 16th out of 36 teams in the Gold 6K and 13th out of 22 teams in the Navy 6K.
Men's Results
In a field of 253 runners, Saint Anselm saw improvements from several returners. Senior
Christian Wetzel led the Hawks, finishing 92nd in 26:39.06, improving from his 185th-place finish in 2024 (27:49.09). Senior
Andrew Keene was close behind in 96th with a time of 26:43.37, moving up from 188th last year (27:52.90).
Rounding out the top five finishers for the Hawks were senior
Neil Harrington, finishing 123rd in 27:14.73; sophomore
Michael Katsikis, finishing 149th in 27:43.30; and freshman
Ned Dion, finishing 168th in 28:00.28.
Women's Results
In a field of 275 runners, the women's cross-country team made several notable improvements. Senior
Cara Morris led the Hawks, finishing 77th with a time of 23:23.39, jumping 80 spots from her 157th-place finish in 2024. Finishing behind Morris was freshman
Jill Olson, placing 128th in 24:29.28.
Freshman
Gretchen Uthoff finished 157th in 25:08.46, just ahead of sophomore
Ava Egan, who finished 162nd in 25:11.63, an improvement from her 217th-place finish last year. Junior
Abby Bemis completed the team score with a 170th-place finish in 25:21.35.
The Hawks will return to competition at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday, October 4
, 2025, at Owl Athletic Complex at 11:00am.
