Saint Anselm to Host NE10 Cross Country Championship Sunday

10/24/2025 1:40:00 PM

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College will host the 2025 Northeast 10 Conference Cross Country Championship on Sunday, Oct. 26th at the South Athletic Fields. The women's 6K race is schedule to begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 12:15 p.m.

The last time the NE10 Championship race came to the Hilltop was in the Fall of 2021. With the Hawks competing on their home course and coming off of season-best performances at the 43rd Annual Shacklette Invitational, Saint Anselm enters this year's championship with momentum.

Currently ranked eighth in the East Region, the women's team looks to build on last year's third-place team finish. Senior Cara Morris has led Saint Anselm throughout the season, serving as the team's top finisher at the Shacklette Invitational, UMass Dartmouth Invitational, and the New England Championships. Morris posted a personal-best at the Shacklette Invitational, finishing second overall with a time of 24:24.7. Morris looks to improve upon 45th-place finish from last year's championship, where she posted a time of 25:40.7.

Freshman Jill Olson has also recorded standout performances in her debut cross country season. Olson finished second for the Hawks at both the UMass Dartmouth Invitational and New England Championships, while rounding out the top-three finishers at the Shacklette Invitational. Olson recorded her personal best of 24:29.28 in the 6K at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, and looks to post a similar performance in her NE10 Championship debut.

On the men's side, Saint Anselm looks to improve on the program's eleventh-place team finish from last year's NE10 Championship following a season of steady progress.

Senior captain Christian Wetzel has been a top-finisher all season for the men. Wetzel recorded a personal best in the 8K at the New England Championships, with a time of 26:14.02, shaving nearly forty seconds off his performance from last year's NE10 Championship performance and looks to finish strong this year.

Fellow senior captains Neil Harrington and Andrew Keene have also been key contributors through the season, consistently finishing among the team's top three.

Keene started the season strong with a top finish from the men's side in the 8K's with a time of 28:48.9 at the Shacklette Invitational and a 26:43.37 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. Harrington posted his season-best time of 26:36.7 at the Shacklette Invitational.

Both races are open to the public and will be broadcast on FloCollege.
