MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College cross country teams competed in the Northeast 10 Cross Country Championship on Sunday. The women's team placed fourth out of ten teams in the 6K, while the men's team finished eighth out of nine in the 8K.
The Hawks hosted the NE10 Championship for the first time since the Fall of 2021 and showcased significant improvements from their season-opening performances from the Shacklette Invitational.
Women's Results
In a field of 92 runners, senior Cara Morris led the Hawks as the top finisher of the day finishing 10th with a time of 24:30.8. Her top-ten finish earned her a spot on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team.
Freshman Jill Olson in her NE10 Championship debut, finished 13th in 25:04.6, nearly a full minute faster than her time of 26:27.4 from the Shacklette Invitational. Olson joined Morris on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team.
Rounding out the top three finishers for the Hawks was junior Sophia Olsen, who finished 21st in 25:45.7, earning NE10 All-Conference Third Team honors.
Freshman Gretchen Uthoff, who finished 23rd in 25:54.5, improved on her course time from the Shacklette Invitational where she ran at 27:29.5, shaving nearly two minutes from her time.
Finishing just behind Uthoff was freshman Brenna Woodbury placing 25th in 25:57.3, freshman Sayde White in 26th at 25:59.3, freshman Eva Tynan in 27th at 26:04.2, and freshman Julia Parsons in 28th at 26:05.7.
Woodbury dropped over a minute from the Shacklette Invitational where she ran in a time of 26:32.6, while Parsons improved by 45 seconds from her time of 26:50.8, and White cut nearly two minutes of her time of 28:24.1, setting a new personal best in the 6K race.
Junior Abby Bemis finished 30th in 26:08.5, improving by over a minute from her time of 27:14.1 from the Shacklette Invitational, while junior Abigail Bernabei rounded out the Hawks' top ten finishing 33rd at 26:19.1 trimming more than a minute from her previous time of 27:28.2.
Men's Results
In the men's 8K field of 94 runners, senior Christian Wetzel led the Hawks with a 16th-place finish in 27:24.4. With the top 20 finish, Wetzel was recognized as a member of the NE10 All-Conference Third Team.
Senior Neil Harrington followed closely in 17th at 27:32.4. Harrington also earning NE10 All-Conference Third Team.
Both Wetzel and Harrington posted major improvements from their Shacklette Invitational performances, Wetzel who ran a 29:04.8, and Harrington at 29:36.3, each cutting nearly 90 seconds from their previous times.
Sophomore Michael Katsikis was the third Hawk to cross the finish line, finishing 49th at 28:30.8, improving by over a minute of his earlier mark of 29:40.6.
Senior Brandon LeBlanc finished 52nd with a time of 28:47.7, nearly four minutes faster from his previous time of 32.04.2 at the start of the season.
 Sophomore Luke Manzi rounded out the top five for the Hawks in 54th place at 28:48.0, shaving nearly two minutes faster from his Shacklette performance.
