Women’s Soccer to Host NE10 Championship Clash with Franklin Pierce Sunday

11/15/2025 7:13:00 PM

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The No. 20 nationally-ranked and top-seeded Saint Anselm College women's soccer team has advanced to the Northeast 10 Conference Championship game following a triumph in penalty kicks against Adelphi University in the semifinal round on Friday, and will host the No. 2 seed, Franklin Pierce University, on Sunday, Nov. 15. Kickoff is slated for noon at Melucci Field in the conference title match.

Admission to the NE10 fall championships is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.

Saint Anselm, trailing 2-0 at the half, posted two goals in the final 25 minutes of action, as freshman Connie Patturelli and sophomore Meghan Deneen each scored to force overtime in the NE10 Semifinals. Following 20 minutes of overtime, the game was decided on penalties. The Panthers scored twice as seniors Addie Birkett and Nina Muir, and sophomore Amarys Jimenez each converted their tries to advance the Hawks to their first the NE10 Championship game appearance since 1991.

In his first season as head coach, Lee Moyce led the Hawks to an 8-2-4 overall record, including a 7-0-2 league ledger, as Saint Anselm claimed the NE10 regular season title for the first time since 1994, the second of its kind in the program's history. Moyce was tabbed the league's Coach of the Year this week when the postseason honors were announced, which included ten Saint Anselm student-athletes earning All-Conference accolades. Sophomore Kaitlyn LeBrun was the lone member of the squad to make the All-Conference First Team, anchoring a Hawks' back line that allowed the fewest shots on goal in the league through the 2025 season.

Saint Anselm is currently riding a nine-game unbeaten streak into the championship. The Hawks trail the Ravens in the all-time series, posting a 7-35-4 record against Franklin Pierce over 46 previous meetings, dating back to the 1988 campaign. The Hawks and Ravens played to a 2-2 draw at Melucci Field earlier this season, with sophomore midfielder Meghan Deneen scoring both goals for the Hawks.

Franklin Pierce, the reigning conference champions, finished second in the NE10 standings following a 6-1-2 NE10 record. The Ravens defeated Pace University, 2-1, in the quarterfinal round, before taking down Saint Michael's College by the same result in the semifinals to advance to the championship game for the second consecutive season. Nine student-athletes earned All-Conference accolades, with senior Samantha Breton highlighting the honorees with a Defensive Player of the Year nod.

The winner of Sunday's game will earn the NE10's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championship.
