Slauson Headlines All-NE10 Baseball Honors for Hawks

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore first baseman George Slauson of the Saint Anselm College baseball team was named the Northeast 10 Conference's Player of the Year, announced by the league office on Wednesday, headlining the eight Hawks earning All-NE10 recognition.

Slauson, who also earned First Team All-Conference honors, solidified himself as the league's premier offensive force, leading the conference in batting average (.444), on-base percentage (.532), slugging percentage (.778), and on-base plus slugging percentage (.781). Over 45 games played, he piled up 69 RBI and 44 runs scored. He added a team-best 15 doubles and 13 home runs to power his standout slugging percentage. He also drew 26 walks and was hit by 10 pitches to fuel an elite on-base mark. Slauson also contributed on the basepaths with eight stolen bases. At first base, Slauson posted a .994 fielding percentage, recording 306 putouts.

Coleson Kaluza was named to the Second Team as an outfielder. Playing in center field in his sophomore season, Kaluza posted a .971 fielding percentage with 97 putouts. Offensively, he slashed .353/.512/.571, notching 55 hits, including nine homers, five doubles, and a triple. He recorded 65 runs (second-best in NE10) and 27 RBI while registering 89 total bases and led the squad and NE10 with 25 stolen bases.

Junior Mavrick Bourdeau was named to the Second Team as well as the All-Defensive Team after posting a .978 fielding percentage at shortstop and slashing .337/.438/.452. At the dish, Bourdeau posted 56 hits as he posted 11 doubles, one triple, and a pair of home runs to knock in 39 runs and score 52 times. Along with drawing 32 walks, he was also hit by pitch on ten occasions.

Junior right-hander Andrew Chenevert put together a strong season on the mound en route to earning All-NE10 Second Team honors as a starting pitcher. Over seven appearances, Chenevert posted a perfect 6-0 record across 37.0 innings, anchoring the rotation with consistent results each time out. He limited opposing hitters to 36 hits and eight walks, allowing just 15 earned runs while striking out 31 batters. Chenevert delivered multiple standout performances, including a six-inning shutout against Southern Connecticut State University, helping the Hawks to their first combined no-hitter since the 2005 season. He posted another scoreless six-inning outing at American International College. He finished the campaign with a 3.65 ERA, the best mark on the team amongst starters.

Appearing in 45 games, Peter Fischer was named to the All-NE10 Third Team as a catcher. The sophomore hit .312 with 49 hits, driving in 36 runs and scoring 21, serving as a consistent presence in the lineup as both a catcher and designated hitter. His extra-base production consisted of six doubles and four home runs. He showed great patience at the plate with 21 walks and was plunked a dozen times to boost his on-base percentage to .425.

Jackson Powers was named to the All-NE10 Third Team as an outfielder following a stellar sophomore season. Powers, who started in all 45 games played, slashed .324/.407/.529 as he notched 55 hits. He recorded 12 doubles, seven homers, and one triple while walking 21 times. In left field, he posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 84 putouts.

Right-handed relief pitcher Finn Ramseyer earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team after making a strong impact out of the bullpen in his first collegiate season. Appearing in 17 games, Ramseyer logged 17.0 innings while posting a 2-0 record and recording five saves. He struck out 24 batters and limited opponents to 23 hits and six walks. Ramseyer delivered multiple scoreless appearances against conference opponents, including a save against SCSU to help secure a combined no-hitter.

Emerging as a reliable contributor down the stretch of the season, freshman Jake Smith was named to the All-Rookie Team. Appearing in 15 games, primarily at third base, Smith hit .283 while scoring 13 runs and driving in eight. He notched three doubles and a home run, while also working nine walks to reach base at a steady clip.
