DALLAS – After turning in one of the finest offensive seasons in program history, sophomore George Slauson of the Saint Anselm College baseball team has been named the East Region Player of the Year and a First Team All-Region selection at first base by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the organization announced Friday afternoon.

Slauson added the regional honors to an already decorated 2026 campaign after previously earning Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-NE10 accolades. The sophomore emerged as one of the top hitters in NCAA Division II this spring, batting .444 across 45 games while compiling 71 hits, 15 doubles, 13 home runs, and 69 RBI. He also scored 47 runs and posted a .781 slugging percentage, .532 on-base percentage, and 1.313 OPS.

On the national stage, Slauson is tied for fifth in Division II in batting average while ranking ninth in RBI per game at 1.53. Within the NE10, he led the conference in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, and OPS while also finishing fourth in RBI, tied for fifth in doubles and home runs, and tied for third in sacrifice flies with five. His consistency helped power the Hawks offense throughout the season, as he recorded 23 multi-hit games and 18 contests with multiple RBI.

Slauson saved some of his best performances for conference play and the stretch run of the season, hitting safely in 37 of his 45 appearances while reaching base at an elite rate throughout the year. His breakout sophomore campaign helped the Hawks back to the NE10 postseason as the third seed in the tournament.

Slauson also made his mark on the program record book, etching his name into several individual season record categories. Along with tying with Ken Kessaris '02 for the most runs batted in over a single season, he moved into second in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and total bases (125), third in hits and home runs, and sixth in doubles.
