GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore first baseman George Slauson of the Saint Anselm College baseball team has been recognized with multiple postseason honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings, highlighted by selection as an ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-American, as announced by the organization this week.

Slauson was also named the ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Position Player of the Year and earned First Team All-East Region honors, capping off a standout sophomore campaign that placed him among the top performers in NCAA Division II baseball. He becomes the second student-athlete in program history to be named the ABCA East Region Player of the Year and the fourth to be named an ABCA Third Team All-American.

Slauson put together one of the finest offensive seasons in program history during his sophomore campaign. Across 45 games, the first baseman slashed .446/.535/.790 while totaling 69 RBI, 44 runs scored, 15 doubles, and 13 home runs. Nationally, Slauson ranked sixth in Division II in batting average and seventh in RBI per game at 1.53.

The sophomore reached base safely in 40 of his 45 games played while recording 22 multi-hit performances throughout the season. Defensively, Slauson was equally dependable at first base, posting a .994 fielding percentage with 299 putouts on the year.

Slauson also etched his name throughout the Saint Anselm single-season record book. Along with tying Ken Kessaris '02 for the program's single-season RBI record, he finished second in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and total bases (125), while ranking third in hits and home runs and sixth in doubles.

Along with his ABCA/Rawlings recognition, Slauson's extensive postseason résumé includes honors from the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) where he was named a Third Team All-American and Regional Player of the Year and the Northeast 10 Conference (NE10) where he was named the Player of the Year. The honors mark three additional milestones in a historic season for Slauson and the Saint Anselm program, adding to a growing list of postseason accolades that reflect his impact at both the regional and national levels.
