FLUSHING, N.Y. – Sophomore first baseman George Slauson of the Saint Anselm College baseball team was selected as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East Region Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Region honors, as announced by the organization on Monday.

This comes days after Slauson was named the East Region Player of the Year by the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), along with a selection to the All-Region First Team.

Slauson put together one of the top offensive seasons in the region, emerging as the centerpiece of the Hawks lineup throughout the spring. The Northeast 10 Conference (NE10) Player of the Year led the league in batting average (.446), on-base percentage (.535), slugging percentage (.790), and OPS, while totaling 69 RBI and 44 runs scored across 45 games. He also paced the team with 15 doubles and 13 home runs while adding 26 walks and 10 hit-by-pitches. Defensively, the sophomore posted a .994 fielding percentage at first base with 306 putouts.

In the national rankings, Slauson is slotted sixth in batting average and seventh in RBI per game (1.53).

Slauson also cemented his place in the program record book, ranking among the top single-season performers in several categories. In addition to matching Ken Kessaris '02 for the program's single-season RBI record, he finished second in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and total bases (125), while placing third in both hits and home runs and sixth in doubles.
