Men’s Golf Ties for Runner-Up on Final Day of Hawk Invitational

CANDIA, N.H. — The Saint Anselm men's golf team competed in the second and final round of the Hawk Invitational at Candia Woods Golf Links on Thursday, tying for second out of seven teams.
 
The Hawks had three groups compete on the par-71, 6,550-yard course, as Assumption won the two-day tournament by just four strokes, combining to shoot 25-over par after 36 holes. Bentley and Saint Anselm placed second, both shooting a combined 597 (+29) between the two days. Felician came in fourth with 601 strokes (+33), followed by the Hawks B group at 606 (+38), Franklin Pierce in sixth at +44 with 612 strokes, and Saint Anselm's C group at +86, totaling 654 strokes.
 
Bentley's Jack Kantowski topped the individual leaderboard, finishing at -4 after two days, shooting a 71 (E) on Wednesday, and a 67 (-4) on Thursday.

How it Happened:
  • The Hawks were led by junior Brady Warren, who finished in fifth place after shooting a 73 (+2) on Thursday, totaling 148 strokes (+6) after two days.
  • Freshman Aidan Finn and sophomore Riley Reardon tied for sixth place, both totaling 149 strokes (+7) as Reardon had the best round of the week by a Hawk, shooting a 71 (E) today, sinking three birdies.
  • Sophomores Brandon Vitarisi and Jack Murray both closed out the tournament at +8, shooting 72s (+1) on Thursday, with a pair of birdies.
  • Sophomore Nick Nowak placed 12th, totaling 151 strokes (+9), shooting a 76 (+5) in the second round.
  • Freshman Carl Sirrianna came in 18th, closing out the second round with a 78 (+7) as he finished the week +11.
  • Senior Anthony Picano and Chris O'Grady finished a stroke apart at +14 and +15, with O'Grady shooting a 78 (+7) and Picano shooting an 81 (+10) on Thursday.
  • Sophomore Charles Conway improved on yesterday's round by four strokes, shooting a 78 (+7). Freshman Patrick Clair shot an 80 (+9) while senior Connor Powers recorded an 84 (+13) and classmate Peter Torres recorded an 87 (+16) to round out the Hawks.
