JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Sophomore
Brandon Vitarisi concluded competition at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional on Saturday, posting a final-round score of 77 (+7) at Sunnehanna Country Club.
Competing individually against the top golfers in both the Atlantic and East regions, Vitarisi finished the three-round event with a total score of 228 (+18), placing tied for 75th out of 126 golfers on the par-70, 7,029-yard course.
How it Happened:
- Vitarisi opened the round with pars on holes one, five, and eight before making the turn at four-over par with a 39 on the front nine.
- The sophomore birdied the sixth, 11th, and 12th holes as he matched his weekend-high of three birdies on Saturday.
- He recorded pars on holes 10, 13, and 14 during a steady stretch in the middle of the round.
- Vitarisi closed the tournament with a 38 (+3) on the back nine to finish the regional championship at 18-over par.
