Vitarisi Improves in Second Round of NCAA Atlantic/East Regional

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Sophomore Brandon Vitarisi shaved a stroke off his opening-round score on Thursday, carding a 75 (+5) during the second round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional at Sunnehanna Country Club.
 
Competing as an individual on the par-70, 7,029-yard course, Vitarisi enters Saturday's final round tied for 64th overall with a two-round score of 151 (+11).

How it Happened:
  • Vitarisi improved his score by one stroke from Thursday's opening round, highlighted by an even-par 35 on the back nine.
  • The sophomore birdied the par-3 14th hole and closed his round with another birdie on the 18th.
  • He recorded pars on eight holes throughout the day, including four over his final five holes.
  • After making the turn at five-over par, Vitarisi steadied his play on the back nine to finish even over the final nine holes.

Vitarisi concludes play at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional on Saturday morning, teeing off at 8:20 a.m. from Sunnehanna Country Club.
