NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Saint Anselm College men's and women's track & field teams will travel to Southern Connecticut State University to compete in the NE10 Outdoor Conference Championship on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at Jess Dow Field.
The men's team is coming off a fourth-place finish at the NE10 Indoor Championship, highlighted by two gold medals in the 200-meter and 400-meter events.
Sophomore Logan Montgomery will look to build on his standout season after being named NE10 Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and setting an NE10 Championship record in the 400-meter with a time of 47.28. He recently added a program record in the 200-meter, winning the event in 21.21 seconds at the George Davis Invitational at UMass Lowell, while also placing second in the 100-meter with a time of 10.82 at the same meet.
Freshman Gavin Lombara has continued to impress, and has earned two Rookie of the Week honors this outdoor season. He has recorded four first-place finishes this spring and has reached the podium in every event. Most recently, Lombara helped the Hawks win the 4x100-meter relay, timing in at 41.78 at the UNH Wildcat Invitational and placed second in the 100-meter at 10.92.
Freshman Andrew Henaghen also enters the championship with momentum after earning Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week honors on Tuesday. He set a program record in the javelin for the third time last week with a throw of 58.57 meters and is set to compete in his first outdoor conference championship.
On the women's side, the Hawks aim to build on their second-place finish at the NE10 Indoor Championship.
Junior Sophia Morin made program history by becoming the first Hawk to reach an NCAA provisional mark, doing so in the javelin at the SNHU Spring Open.
Sophomore Reese Nicolosi followed with a provisional mark in the 400-meter hurdles at the SNHU Ed Daniels Classic. She has earned four first-place finishes this season and earned her first NE10 Track Athlete of the Week honor.
Senior Harmony Marquez also reached a provisional mark in the javelin, recording a throw of 42.88 meters at the George Davis Invitational.
Single day tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and youth, while weekend passes are available for adults at $25 and seniors and youth for $15. All NE10 students will have free admission with their student ID.
