Hawks Open NE10 Championship with Podium Finishes

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Saint Anselm College men's and women's track & field teams competed through the opening day of the Northeast 10 Conference Outdoor Championship at Jess Dow Field.

The Hawks highlighted the meet with a pair of school-record performances in the javelin, while also stacking up multiple podium finishes and qualifying marks across the opening two days of competition. With preliminary rounds shaping much of the early action, the women sit in third place with 41.5 points while the men are in fifth with 33 points heading into the final day of action.

Men's Track

· Sophomore Joseph D'Angelo opened the sprint events with a third-place finish in the 100, crossing in 10.74 to advance to the final. Senior Jaidin Haynes also moved on in eighth at 10.76, while Gavin Lombara (10.82), Kaleb Lewis (11.02), Trevor Hunter (11.24), and Taishaun Jackson (11.47) also competed.

· Sophomore Logan Montgomery won the 200 prelims in 20.95, with D'Angelo placing third in 21.63 and Sam Jones eighth in 21.77 to also advance. Ray Kwiatek (22.01) and Lewis (22.86) also ran.

· Montgomery added a second qualifying performance in the 400, finishing second in 47.80. Kwiatek placed fifth in 48.39, Jones sixth in 48.66, with Daniel Leet (49.15), Hunter Beaudoin (50.09), and Andres Infante (51.48) rounding out the field.

· Sophomore Leo Sheriff advanced in the 110 hurdles after placing second in 14.54, with junior Stephen Quinn also moving on in fifth at 15.40. Jason Berard (15.89) and Marlon Tullis (16.02) trailed.

· The 400 hurdles was led by freshman Gavin Lombara who placed second in 55.46 to qualify for the final, joined by Quinn (56.64), Brady Ash (57.00), and Tullis (58.38).

· The 4x800 relay team of Teixeira, Manzi, Carey, and Wetzel placed fifth in 8:19.22.

Men's Field

· Sophomore Peter Hogan placed fourth in the high jump at 1.90 meters to score five points.

· Haynes delivered a runner-up finish in the long jump at 7.18 meters for eight points, with sophomore Parker Gleckman placing sixth at 6.90 meters for three points.

· Sophomore Colin Burns placed fifth in the hammer throw at 47.71 meters for four points.

· Freshman Andrew Henaghen delivered a school-record performance in the javelin, placing second with a throw of 61.25 meters. The mark met NCAA Division II provisional standards and earned automatic qualification for the U20 Championships.

Men's Multi

· Hogan holds the second overall spot in the decathlon, with junior Finley Raudelunas sittting fourth heading into the final day.

· Hogan posted marks of 11.30 in the 100, 6.60 meters in the long jump, 12.40 meters in the shot put, 1.82 meters in the high jump, and 53.54 in the 400.

· Raudelunas recorded 11.71 in the 100, 6.34 meters in the long jump, 11.45 meters in the shot put, 1.70 meters in the high jump, and 53.68 in the 400.

Women's Track

· Freshman Sophia Guzman placed ninth in the 100 in 12.49, while freshman Samantha DiFonte finished 12th in 13.02.

· Senior Rebecca Cady led the 200 group in 25.66 for 10th, with Guzman close behind in 25.93 and junior Meredith Pasquarosa finishing in 26.00.

· Cady carried that momentum into the 400, winning her heat in 57.41. Sophomore Sam Ducharme and freshman Brenna Woodbury also moved through to the final field with times of 59.51 and 1:00.59.

· Junior Finleigh Simonds secured a runner-up finish in the 800 in 2:18.91 to advance, joined by freshman Brenna Woodbury's strong effort timing in at 1:00.59.

· Senior Cara Morris earned a scoring finish in the 10,000, placing eighth in 41:35.68 to secure a point.

· Sophomore Reese Nicolosi led the 100 hurdles group with a third-place finish in 14.29, while sophomore Petrina Ofori followed in fifth at 14.73.

· The 400 hurdles prelims brought a strong team showing, as Nicolosi won in 1:01.91 and Ofori followed in 1:03.09. Pasquarosa added another qualifying performance in 1:06.07.

Women's Field

· The javelin opened with a school-record performance as junior Sophia Morin captured the event title at 44.96 meters for 10 points. Senior Harmony Marquez followed in second at 42.60 meters for 8 points, while sophomore Mia Migliorini added a sixth-place finish at 36.56 meters for 3 points. Sophomore Erica Korowski placed seventh at 34.87 meters for 2 points, and senior Kylie Frank rounded out the scoring with eighth place at 34.43 meters for 1 point.

· In the pole vault, freshman Alaina Morris and sophomore Tija Dilba shared fourth place at 2.90 meters, each earning 4 points. Junior Chloe Lawrence placed seventh at 2.75 meters for 1.5 points, while junior Lidya Belanger cleared 2.60 meters in 10th and senior Morgan Armstrong finished 11th at 2.15 meters.

· The long jump featured a top-10 finish from freshman Ava Houle, who placed 10th at 5.37 meters. DiFonte followed in 11th at 5.19 meters, freshman Mackenzie Hibbert was 13th at 5.15 meters, and sophomore Jessica Bremberg placed 16th at 4.94 meters.

· Senior Brianne Rett secured a scoring finish in the hammer throw, placing seventh at 41.28 meters for 2 points. Sophomore Marissa Abbis placed 11th at 35.91 meters.

Women's Multi

· Sophomore Shaylee Owens sits seventh and sophomore Izabel Korbet eighth in the heptathlon after four events on day one.

· Owens posted 18.00 in the 100 hurdles, 1.35 meters in the high jump, 8.24 meters in the shot put, and 31.38 in the 200.

· Korbet recorded 19.01 in the hurdles, 1.32 meters in the high jump, 8.68 meters in the shot put, and 29.92 in the 200.
