MANCHESTER, N.H. — Junior
Brady Warren shot a 70 and sits one stroke off the lead as he ranks tied for third out of 47 golfers, pacing the Saint Anselm men's golf team at the Penmen Spring Invitational at the Derryfield Country Club, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University on Monday.
Eight teams competed on the par-70, 6,143-yard course, with the Hawks being in fifth place after the first 18 holes, combining to shoot a 297 (+17). Assumption ranks first at +8 after combining to shoot a 288, with Post in second place at +11 and Southern New Hampshire in third at +12.
Felician's Carlos Ferreira and Bentley's Jack Kantowski both shot a 69 (-1) to lead the individual standings heading into tomorrow's second and final round.
How it Happened:
- Warren finished with a 70 (E), sinking three birdies on the back nine as he sits just one stroke off the lead.
- Sophomore Nick Nowak had an impressive performance competing individually, tying for sixth place as he shot a 71 (+1) with four birdies.
- Sophomore Jack Murray ranks in a tie for 17th as he shot a 74 (+4), tallying two birdies, while classmate Brandon Vitarisi is two strokes behind him at +6, tied for 25th.
- Sophomore Riley Reardon shot a 77 (+7), freshman Aidan Finn shot a 79 (+9), and freshman Carl Sirrianna competed as an individual, shooting an 89 (+19).
