Trio of Hawks Selected to NEILA Team of the Week

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Three members of the No. 2 nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team, sophomores Ben Turpin, and Matt Lemay and senior Quinn Gannon, were selected to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Division I/II Team of the Week, the association announced Monday afternoon.

Turpin, named the Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Week for the first time on Monday, posted 11 goals and one assist to lift Saint Anselm to a 2-0 week against conference opponents. In Wednesday night's 9-7 win over Bentley University, he posted a hat trick before recording eight goals and an assist in a 15-12 win at No. 18 Assumption University on Saturday. The Groveland, Mass. native currently ranks first in the NE10 in goals per game (4.14) and first in points per game (5.29) through seven contests.

Lemay posted six goals and three assists for a nine-point win over the two games last week. In Wednesday's clash with the Falcons, the Westminster, Mass. native registered four points on a pair of goals and assists to go along with three ground balls. In Saturday's ranked matchup with the Greyhounds, Lemay turned in a season-high four-goal performance to finish with five points and three ground balls.

Gannon went 35-for-47 (74.5%) on faceoffs over the pair of victories. In Saturday's contest in Worcester, the Scituate, Mass. native went 25-for-29 (86.2%) with a career-high 18 ground balls.

Turpin, Lemay, Gannon and the Hawks (7-0, 3-0 NE10) will host No. 20 Saint Michael's College (6-2, 1-2 NE10) in a NE10 clash on Wednesday, April 1 at 4 p.m. at Grappone Stadium.
