SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Sophomore Ben Turpin of the nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team was named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Team of the Week following stellar performances in wins over Mercy University and Franklin Pierce University.
The Groveland, Mass. native started the week off strong with two goals and one assist contributing to a 14-7 win over the Mavericks, a team receiving votes in the national poll. On Saturday, he set a career-high in goals (7) and points (9), guiding the Hawks to a 17-3 victory over the Ravens at home in the NE10 opener.
Ben Turpin sits second in the conference in goals per game (3.60) and third in points per game (5.00) through five contests.
The Hawks (5-0, 1-0 NE10) are ranked No. 2 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Poll, the highest ranking in program history, and are gearing up to face off against Bentley University (3-4, 1-1 NE10) on Wednesday, March 25 at 4 p.m. at Grappone Stadium.
