How it Happened

After a scoreless opening period, the Hawks scored the games first three goals as O'Brien, Turpin, and Lemay each found the back of the net to put the hosts on top, 3-0, with 6:47 left before halftime.

Bentley scored the next two goals to cut Saint Anselm's lead to one with 1:44 to play, but Turpin buried a shot with just 10 seconds left before halftime to increase the Hawks' lead to a pair going into the break.

After an early Bentley goal in the opening minute of the third quarter made it a one-goal game, Lemay and Turpin both scored back-to-back, with Turpin's goal coming on a man-up opportunity, to boost Saint Anselm's advantage back to three with 7:09 to play in the third.

Bentley closed the third quarter with a goal in the final two minutes and opened the fourth with a goal in the first 41 seconds to make it a 6-5 game in favor of Saint Anselm. The Hawks responded with goals off the sticks of Boyle and Dean in a 38 second span to make it 8-5.

A Falcons goal less than a minute later would make it an 8-6 game with 12:11 to play before Claflin buried a feed from Lemay in the final five minutes to score the Hawks' final goal of the contest.

Bentley used a man-up opportunity to its advantage as Brady Glass scored his second of the half with 1:54 to play.

Bentley got the ball back with 1:11 to play, but were unable to take a shot as a turnover in the final seconds helped the Hawks hold on to take their sixth win of the campaign.
