NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Senior defender Elyse Scales of the nationally ranked No. 21 Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team was named the Northeast 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Scales helped the Hawks to a 2-0 week against NE10 opponents.

Scales opened the week with two ground balls, and one caused turnover, while notching her first draw control of the campaign in Saint Anselm's 17-8 win at Saint Michael's College on Wednesday. She then followed up her performance with four ground balls, and four caused turnovers, in Saturday's 18-13 win over Bentley University.

Scales and the Hawks (6-3, 2-1 NE10) look to continue their strong run at home this Tuesday, March 31 as Saint Anselm will take on No. 13 Adelphi University (5-4, 5-0 NE10) at 4 p.m. at Grappone Stadium.
