ORLANDO, Fla. — The Saint Anselm men's golf team competed in the opening round of the Saint Anselm Florida Invitational hosted by the Hawks at Eagle Creek Golf Club on Monday.
The Hawks had three groups compete on the par-72, 6,602-yard course, led by their A group, which combined to shoot 310 (+22) as a team. Adelphi leads a field of 10 teams, shooting a 279 (-9) while Bentley sits in second place at +5. Saint Anselm is in seventh place and finds itself 31 strokes off the lead.
How it Happened:
- Sophomore Brandon Vitarisi led the Hawks, shooting a 74 (+2) with two birdies on the day.
- Junior Brady Warren shot a 78 (+6) with three birdies, and the duo of freshman James Smith and sophomore Riley Reardon both shot a 79 (+7). Smith led the Hawks with four birdies in the opening round.
- Sophomores Jack Murray and Nick Nowak both eagled the par-5 fourth hole, shooting 78 and 79 in the Hawks B team.
- Freshman Aidan Finn recorded his first collegiate eagle on the par-5 18th hole, finishing with a 79 (+7) on the day. Classmate Pat Clair led the C grouping for the Hawks with a 78 (+6), while sophomore Charles Conway matched Finn with a 79 (+7).
