GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Freshman
Isabella Scioletti made her collegiate debut during the first round of the WCU Battlefield Classic at the Links at Gettysburg on Monday, leading the Hawks as she is currently in a tie for ninth place after 18 holes.
Saint Anselm traveled five golfers to the two-day tournament hosted by the West Chester Golden Rams, taking on a Par-72, 5,809-yard course. Of the eight teams competing, the Hawks currently sit in fifth place with a team score of +79.
How it Happened:
- In her first collegiate golf event, Scioletti had a great day, shooting five over par in the front nine before carrying her momentum to an even better three over par through the back nine, finishing the day at 80 strokes (+8).
- Scioletti enters tomorrow's second round five strokes off the leader, Cara Murphy of West Chester, who finished the day shooting a 75 (+3).
- Sophomore Ella Graham and senior Lydia Tufts finished the day in 26th and 27th place overall, as Graham shot a 92 (+20) and Tufts finished with a 95 (+23).
- Freshmen Bianca Ligotti and Carley Iannetta also made their collegiate debuts on Monday and will be back on the course tomorrow for the final round of action.
