TOWNSEND, MASS. — Sophomore
Riley Reardon finished round one of the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational in third place to lead the Saint Anselm College men's golf team at the Northern Spy Golf Club on Monday.
Eight Hawks competed in the first round of the two-day invitational to open their 2025-26 season, playing on a Par-70, 6,426-yard course hosted by the Ravens. After the first day of competition, Saint Anselm sits in fifth place out of seven teams, with their top four golfers combining for a score of +26.
How it Happened
- Reardon paced the Hawks, placing third out of 43 golfers on Monday with a 73 (+3), including two birdies and just five bogeys.
- Sophomore Brandon Vitarisi finished one stroke behind Reardon at +4, ranking seventh on the individual leaderboard, also notching two birdies in his opening round.
- Classmate Jack Murray had a solid round for the Hawks, shooting a 79 (+9) to rank 22nd overall, while freshman James Smith finished with an 80 (+10) in his collegiate debut to round out the top-four finishers.
- Competing individually, senior Anthony Picano matched Smith's round score of an 80 (+10) as the duo sits in a tie for 25th heading into tomorrow's final round.
