Women’s Golf in Fourth Place After First Round of NE10 Championship

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. — Freshman Bianca Ligotti placed seventh overall to lead the Saint Anselm College women's golf team at the first round of the Northeast 10 Championship at Stonebridge Country Club on Tuesday.
 
The Hawks hosted a field of six teams at the course just miles away from campus, competing on the yellow tees, making for a par-72, 5,856-yard day for the field. Saint Anselm is currently in fourth place, combining to shoot 361 (+73), 21 strokes off the lead, where Adelphi sits with a +52.
 
Bentley is in second place at +66, Assumption is in third at +72, followed by the Hawks, then Franklin Pierce in fifth with a score 80-over par, and Jefferson ranking sixth at +96. On the individual leaderboard, Bentley's Isabel Gonzalez-Villarreal leads a pack of 29 competitors, shooting a 77 (+5) on Tuesday.
 
How it Happened
  • Ligotti shot an 85 (+13), tying for seventh as she sits eight strokes off the lead heading into tomorrow's second and final round.
  • Freshman Isabella Scioletti
  • Freshman Carley Iannetta is in a tie for 12th place, finishing with 88 (+16) strokes, while classmate Isabella Scioletti shot a 90 (+18) to rank 14th.
  • Senior Lydia Tufts and sophomore Ella Graham both finished at +26, tying for 22nd place.
