CONCORD, N.H. — The Saint Anselm College men's golf team competed in the second and final round of the Penmen Fall Invitational at Concord Country Club, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University, on Tuesday.
The Hawks played another 18 holes on the par-70, 6,539-yard course in the state's capital, improving on their team score of a 316 (+36) yesterday, to shoot a 302 (+22) as a team on The host Penmen won the two-day tournament, shooting a 293 (+13) yesterday and a 294 (+14) in the second round, to put up a team score of 27-over par.
Saint Anselm finished out the invitational in fifth place out of six teams, led by freshman
James Smith, who placed 18th out of 36 individual competitors.
How it Happened
- Smith shot a 77 (+7) on Monday before shooting a 76 (+6) in the second round, as his 153-stroke total put him at +13.
- Sophomore Riley Reardon finished in a tie for 23rd place, finishing the mid-week invite at +15, shooting a 77 in the first round and a 78 in the second with a pair of birdies.
- Sophomore Brandon Vitarisi had the best round of the day for the Hawks, and the eighth-best round overall on Tuesday, shooting a 73 (+3). He finished in a tie for 28th at +18.
- Junior Brady Warren improved on his first round by seven strokes, shooting a 75 (+5) as he placed 26th overall at +17.
- Sophomore Jack Murray rounds out the Saint Anselm golfers, recording rounds of 80 (+10) and 81 (+11) strokes.
