Men’s Golf Opens Play at Penmen Fall Invitational

CONCORD, N.H. — The Saint Anselm men's golf team played the opening round of the Penmen Fall Invitational at Concord Country Club, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University, on Monday.
 
The Hawks played on the par-70, 6,539-yard course in the state's capital on Monday, shooting a 316 (+36) as a team. Dominican University (N.Y.) leads a field of six teams, shooting a 290 (+10) while SNHU sits in second place at +13. Saint Anselm is in sixth place and finds itself 26 strokes off the lead.

How it Happened
  • Freshman James Smith and sophomore Riley Reardon had the best individual rounds of the day for the Hawks, both shooting 77s (+7). Smith had a pair of birdies on the back nine to highlight his afternoon as the pairing ranks 19th on the individual leaderboard.
  • Sophomore Jack Murray shot an 80 (+10) on Monday, sinking a team-best three birdies as he sits in 27th place.
  • Junior Brady Warren and sophomore Brandon Vitarisi round out the five competitors for the Hawks, with Warren finishing the day at 82 (+12) strokes and Vitarisi shooting an 85 (+15).
