NORTH ATTLEBORO, MASS. - Senior goalkeeper
David Hood and freshman forward
Jason Xintaropoulos of the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team earned Northeast 10 Conference (NE10) recognition, being named the Goalkeeper and Rookie of the week, respectively.
The weekly awards follow an undefeated week as the Hawks went 2-0-1 to stretch their unbeaten streak to five games to open the 2025 season. This marks the first time since the 2022 campaign that the team has started unbeaten through five contests.
Hood made seven saves in Wednesday's 1-0 victory in the Hawks' home opener against Staten Island. The clean sheet marked the second of the season for Hood, and the ninth of his career. In Friday's road matchup at Daemen, he made two saves over 76:40 of action in a combined shutout as Saint Anselm cruised to a 5-0 win. Hood made two saves in Sunday's 2-2 draw at Roberts Wesleyan to help keep the unbeaten streak alive. This is the second goalkeeper of the week honor of Hood's career, the first since the week of September 25, 2023.
Xintaropoulos was presented his first collegiate opportunity over the weekend and did not disappoint as the first year scored two goals, the first of his career, over a span of 1:12 in the first half to help the Hawks pull away from Daemen.
