Highlights
  • Freshman Luke Delia netted the first goal of his career while junior Jake McCabe scored his second goal of the season, converting on the first penalty kick attempt of the year for the Hawks.
  • Senior goalie David Hood made two saves while allowing two goals as his record sits at 2-0-3 on the season.
  • Saint Anselm scored two goals in the first half while Roberts Wesleyan netted two in the second half leading to the tie. The Hawks are now 4-2-1 all-time against the Redhawks
  • The Hawks were outshot, 12-11, by the Redhawks with Saint Anselm holding a slight edge, 5-4, in shots on goal.
  • This marks the first time since 2022 that the Hawks started the season unbeaten through five games.
How it Happened:
A foul in the box in the eighth minute by the Redhawks gave McCabe a penalty kick, with his right-footed shot tucking into the bottom right corner of the net despite the RWU goalie guessing correctly.

Just over a minute later, Delia netted the Hawks second goal as he dribbled through the box, moving from his right to left, finding the bottom right corner of the goal with a left-footed shot.

Hood recorded his only two saves of the game in the 32nd and 36th minutes, turning away both shots to keep Saint Anselm in front, 2-0.

Roberts Wesleyan scored in the waning seconds of the first half as Sebestian Guerrero put the ball in the back of the net with just 39 seconds left on the clock.

The Redhawks scored the equalizer in the 78th minute off the foot of Archie Murphy as he launched a shot into the corner of the net.

The Hawks defense held on late, staving off a strong offensive effort from Roberts Wesleyan to secure the 2-2 tie.
