CANDIA, N.H. — The Saint Anselm College men's golf team finished in sixth place after the third and final round of the Northeast 10 (NE10) Championship at Candia Woods Golf Links on Thursday.
The Hawks played the final 18 holes for a total of 54 after three rounds of golf during the two-day tournament on the par-71, 6,550-yard golf course. The final tally for the Hawks came out to 912 (+60) strokes as a team, with Saint Anselm finishing at +26 on Thursday.
Southern New Hampshire was crowned NE10 Champions, combining to shoot 19 strokes over par, followed by Adelphi in second at +23, and Assumption came in third place at +31. Bentley (+49), and Franklin Pierce (+57) finished ahead of the Hawks, while American International came in seventh place at +72.
SNHU's Andrew Surprenant won the individual title, led by an impressive third round of 65 (-6) strokes, finishing at -8 for the tournament.
How it Happened
- Junior Brady Warren had the highest individual finish of any Hawk, placing 10th, shooting a 78 (+7) with two birdies on Thursday to finish at +10 for the week.
- Sophomore Riley Reardon shot a 75 (+4) in the third round, the best of the day for the Hawks and his best of the three rounds, finishing at 20 strokes over par for a 21st-place finish.
- Sophomore Jack Murray had another solid round, playing in his second after subbing in after the first, shooting a 76 (+5) to place 31st.
- Senior Anthony Picano shot an 85 (+14), coming in a tie for 21st with Reardon as he finished the three rounds at +20.
- Freshman James Smith finished his third round in 81 (+10) strokes with one birdie as he placed 28th with a cumulative score of +26.
