WINTHROP, Mass. – After breaking the program record with 66 saves in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Boston College, Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey freshman goaltender Kayla Czukoski was named the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Rookie of the Week for the second straight week.
The Exton, Pa. native's 66-save performance marked the most in a single-game for a Hawk, topping Ava Hills who made 61 saves last season against Yale.
Czukoski and the Hawks (2-1-0, 2-0-0 NEWHA) return to play on Friday, Oct. 10 for a matchup against the University of Maine (0-4-0, 0-0-0 HEA). Puck drop is slated for 2:00 p.m. from the Harold Alfond Sports Arena.
