NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second consecutive week, Saint Anselm College field hockey senior back Millie Forster was named the Northeast 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
The Hawks, ranked ninth in the Penn Monto/NFHCA National Coaches Poll, posted a 2-0 week against NE10 opponents as Saint Anselm secured a pair of shutout victories. In Wednesday night's 1-0 double overtime victory over Bentley University, Forster put two shots on goal and helped the defensive unit limit the Falcons to just one shot on goal and five corners, as Saint Anselm posted its sixth shutout of the campaign.
In Saturday's 8-0 win over Mercy University, Forster recorded two goals while helping limit the Mavericks to two shots on target and four corners as the Hawks improved to 12-5 (9-2 NE10) with one game left in the regular season.
Forster and the Hawks carry a four-game winning streak into Tuesday night's NE10 matchup against cross-town rivals Southern New Hampshire University (12-4, 8-2 NE10). The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Larkin Field. The two teams met back on Sep. 7 at Grappone Stadium, with Saint Anselm taking down the then No. 8 Penmen, 4-2.
