COLONIA, N.J. – Freshman Caroline Smead earned her first career East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week nod, the conference announced on Thursday afternoon.
Smead earned the honor following her collegiate debut at the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic, where she helped the Hawks to four wins on opening weekend. Smead posted a 16.92 first-ball average, a 38% strike rate, and an 18.6 tenth frame average during traditional play. In Baker play, Smead doubled at a 47.7% clip.
Sophomore Ashlee Hess was also recognized, earning a spot on the ECC Weekly Honor Roll after posting a 19.44 first-ball average and 54% strike rate in traditional play. Hess doubled 52.9% of the time in Baker play and converted 82.9% of her single-pin spares across the weekend.
