Women’s Bowling Competes at Day One of Destination Florida Tournament

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Anselm College women's bowling team traveled to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the Destination Florida Tournament hosted by Sacred Heart University at Sky Lanes on Friday morning.

How it Happened

The Hawks began the day with a Baker match against Jacksonville State University falling, 750-950.

Saint Anselm continued Baker play, with a tightly contested match up against Florida A&M University, narrowly dropping the match in a 21-pin difference, 726-747.

In the third Baker match, the Hawks were defeated by the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB), 746-1041, before falling to Duquesne University, 809-972.

Saint Anselm closed day one with a loss against host Sacred Heart University, 802-923.

Across five matches, the Hawks averaged 153.3 as a team, with the highest match average against Duquesne University, where Saint Anselm averaged 161.8.

Up Next

The Hawks will be back at Sky Lanes tomorrow morning for day two of the Destination Florida Tournament. Saint Anselm opens play against Alabama A&M University, followed by matches with University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Wichita State University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Maryville College.
