NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Saint Anselm College women's basketball team has been picked to finish third in the Northeast 10 Conference, as voted on by the league's head coaches in the annual Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The Hawks received 62 points from their peers after compiling an 18-10 overall record last season, with 14 wins coming in conference play. Bentley earns the top spot in the poll for the third time in the past four seasons with 81 points and nine first-place votes out of ten. Southern Connecticut State University earned the second slot with 67 points and one first-place vote.

Last season, after falling in the NE10 quarterfinal round, the Hawks received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II East Regional, where they defeated Southern Connecticut State University in the quarterfinals before losing to Bentley in the East Region semifinals. The Hawks were picked seventh ahead of the 2024-25 season before finishing second in the regular season standings. This is the highest finish in the preseason poll for Saint Anselm since the 2021-22 season when the Hawks were also picked third.
With 115 career wins under his belt, Head Coach
Corey Boilard enters his ninth year on the Hilltop in 2025-26. Joining Boilard will be second-year assistant coach
Century McCartney.
Saint Anselm returns five seniors:
Gina Gaccione, Tatum Forbes, Brianna James, Harmony Marquez, and
Anna Nelson. A season ago, Forbes ranked second on the Hawks in scoring, rebounding, and assists, averaging 11.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game with four double-doubles.
Also returning for the Hawks is their fourth leading scorer, redshirt sophomore
Elise MacNair, who recorded a 32.9 three-point percentage last season. The Hawks also return junior
Kaitlin McDonough and sophomores
Bella Vaz and
Avery Romps.
The six newcomers for the Hawks include freshmen
Amarilis Shubick, Lilly Nossiff, Hannah Lynch, and transfers
Georgia Knight, Natalie Harmata, and
Meghan Trapper.
The Hawks graduated four student-athletes, including the 2024-2025 NE10 Player of the Year
Melanie Hoyt.
Saint Anselm opens its season at Division I UMass Lowell, taking on the River Hawks at the Kennedy Family Athletic Complex on Monday, November 3rd at 4 p.m. The Hawks open their home slate, hosting the Saint Anselm Challenge with its first matchup against Felician on Friday, November 14th, at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
