Saint Anselm led for most of the first quarter, despite the Eagles making their first two shot attempts to take an early lead. Forbes and MacNair had their shots falling early as Forbes scored 10 and MacNair had eight points in the first quarter as the Hawks led 25-20.

Post made it a one-point game, 27-26, after getting a three-pointer to fall, but Vaz halted the Eagles' run with a three of her own. The Eagles hung around within one, 30-29, but the Hawks finished the half on an 11-2 run, leading by 10, 41-31, at the break.

Forbes scored eight consecutive points for the Hawks in the third quarter, and Vaz capped off the run with a three-pointer as the Hawks led 56-39 with just over a minute to go in the third. Senior Harmony Marquez ended the quarter with a steal before getting fouled and going 1-2 at the charity stripe with Saint Anselm in front 57-39 heading into the fourth.

Senior Anna Nelson opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer, and the Hawks dominated for the remainder of the game, winning by 32, 78-46. McDonough scored eight points and senior Brianna James knocked down both of her three-point attempts to lead Saint Anselm in the quarter.
